Ritecoat Brings Metal Back to Life
The technology centre of a leading UK telecoms group in Berkshire is looking as good as new courtesy of Ritecoat...
Developed by Ritec International, renowned for its ClearShield glass protection technology, the Ritecoat System renovates and protects interior and exterior surfaces, both coated and non-coated, such as brushed stainless steel and aluminium.
The coloured metal window frames of the building in Newbury had become dull and unattractive after 20 years’ exposure to a cocktail of common contaminants, such as bird droppings, water run-off and atmospheric pollution. Conventional cleaning methods could not improve their appearance and to some extent the use of harsh chemicals had made it worse. Onsite treatment with the Ritecoat System has restored the powder-coated frames to their original, glossy red finish and left them much easier to clean.
Ritecoat converts high maintenance surfaces into low maintenance, 'non-stick’ surfaces that are resistant to discolouration and corrosion from natural weathering, chemical attack and even graffiti. The treatment at the building in Reading involved renovation of the frames with Ritecoat, followed by the application of Ritecoat to protect the surface against further degradation. The treated surfaces are now easier to clean and maintain using Ritec’s simple after-care programme - thereby saving cost, time and effort. Indeed, the treatment has proved so successful that Ritecoat has since been specified for other buildings belonging to the telecoms company.
