MIG Invests in ClearShield Glass Surface Protection

Ritec International has added Midland Industrial Glass (MIG), one of the largest specialist glass processors in Europe, to its network of ClearShield Applicators...

As a licensed Applicator, Smethwick-based MIG now includes ClearShield glass surface protection among its extensive range of high quality processes for glass and glazing applications, from furniture and shopfitting through to leisure and architectural. In fact, the company is already seeing a return on its investment. Since taking on the System, it has already secured an order for 300m2 of ClearShield Low-M® (Low-Maintenance) Glass for high-quality shower cubicles – a new market for MIG.

MIG specialises in bespoke glass components for a discerning customer base and MD, Alan Taylor, says ClearShield gives the company an important new added-value service. “We looked at various options but ClearShield was the clear winner because it has a proven reputation for protecting glass from dirt and discolouration so it retains its original sparkle with minimal maintenance,” he comments. MIG’s ClearShield facilities will also be a major asset when the company’s new sandblasting machine goes into production. ClearShield is especially effective for protecting sandblasted glass, which is highly susceptible to unsightly finger marks and other stains.

Ritec’s technical and marketing support also played a key role in MIG’s decision, explains Alan Taylor: “We like the fact that Ritec works in close partnership with their customers to help them make the most of their investment in ClearShield. They have provided excellent training and advice, guided us through our first order for ClearShield glass, and even arranged demonstrations to promote the benefits of the System to our customers.”

MIG is one of a growing number of glass processors and fabricators who carry out the safe and easy application of ClearShield in their factories to add value to their glass and glazing products and increase sales and profits. Ritec offers a complete package for factory applicators, with different methods of application and formulations available to suit individual needs. MIG has installed an automatic spray system, which is operated by two members of its production team who have been specially trained by Ritec.

Added value services, like ClearShield, can help companies win new business and protect profit margins – and that’s even more important in the current economic climate, says Alan Taylor: “ClearShield reflects our commitment to providing top quality products and services and we – ourselves and our customers - are already reaping the benefits.”
